Check out our Geologists at work!
The students have been studying rocks! They have learned how to describe rocks according to their origin, size, texture, shape, and color. They learned about the cycles of sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. As shown in the photographs below, the students are deeply engaged in collaborative discussions with their team members. Some of the groups decided to add parameters such as scent and permeability.
They are students and botanists!
The students are studying the parts of plant and animal cells. They were able to look at several plant and animal specimens under a one thousand times zoom microscope! They planted Marigold seeds and Lima beans. They are slowly growing in the classroom window. The students will have a chance to study their plants under the microscope once they grow to a bigger size. As shown in the photographs below, the class enjoyed creating edible plant and animal cell models. They did an excellent job building the models, explaining the different parts, and collaborating with peers.
